The Ressia family has been growing and selling wine for three generations, since 1930. Since 1977 their farm is located in Neive, a quaint village in the heart of the Langhe. They build their farmhouse on a hill called Canova. The hill took its name from their farmhouse: in fact, in Piedmontese, this expression means New house and they were the first to build their home up there). Fabrizio Ressia, together with his mother Miranda and the rest of the family, runs the winery. The great exposure of the vineyards – they are situated southward – favoured the development of the family business: it covers around 6.5 hectares. Integrated plant protection (wich implies low hectare yield, exclusive use of organic manuring, no chemical weed control, environmentally friendly treatements, revegetation and eco-friendly practices) is performed.
The Ressia family aims at producing wines using exclusively their own vineyard in order to recreate the flavour of their territory – its specific features, its elegance and its harmony – and to preserve the environment.
Ressia is considered one of the most representative wineries of this Cru thanks to its unique way of producing wines. Ressia manages to combine tradition and innovation.
