Wine is a special product. Each nuance bears the signature of its maker. Just think that up to a few decades ago, so much of Sardinia’s wine, despite its many centuries’ history was shipped in bulk to be sold in Europe without a label.
Francesco and Giuseppe, the sons of founder Antonio, set out to change all this. They wanted their wine to be sold under their own name and to be knowingly appreciated. They entrusted the subtleties of winemaking to two oenologists: Giacomo Tachis and Mariano Murru. They changed grape-growing methods: handling each vine with greater care, reducing the grape load per plant.
Thus it was that time-honoured wisdom was matched with new awareness, research was coupled with passion, to ensure that the effects of each technique were precisely determined. And thus they made their wines known, and the grape varieties of Sardinia with them. A virtuous cycle, thanks to which the excellence achieved through hard work and dedication has made Sardinian wines known and loved the world over. Each success offers yet another opportunity to keep improving and preserving a precious wine heritage.
