GEWÜRTZTRAMINER
Production area
The Gewürztraminer vines are all cultivated with the guyot method. They grow in clayish soil with a good presence of skeleton (a high percentage of pebbles) at altitudes between 350 and 650 meters. The vineyards are positioned in the municipalities of Montagna, Gleno, Pinzano and Mazzon with a south-western exposure
Wine-making method
After a brief period of steep (contact with the grape skins) the must is fermented at low temperature in steel vats. Subsequently the wine matures on its yeast with frequent battonage (by keeping the yeast in suspension) for about six months before bottling
Wine description
Gewürztraminer has an intense golden colour with a deep bouquet of complex fragrances such as lychees, orange peels, cloves, nutmeg and roses. The wine needs a while in the glass to highlight its qualities. On the palate it is stimulating thanks to its structure, freshness and vivacity with a very persistent and slightly bitter aftertaste
Wine-pairing
Gewürztraminer reaches its full development only after several months of aging in the bottle. This wine is perfectly combined with liver paste, white meat, grilled shellfish and numerous Asian dishes and spices
